Prince Norodom Sihanouk said in a statement issued in Peking today [30th January] that he decided to resign from the post of president of Democratic Kampuchea ultimately as of 30th January 1988. On 7th May 1987, Sihanouk had announced that the would temporarily suspend the work of the president of Democratic Kampuchea for one year.
