We had talk to Leward shortly after his conversation with Steeves. We gathered that, whereas our conversation with Steeves had been mainly on the role Hammarskjoeld might play to bring about a detente between Cambodia and its neighbors, Ledward had been mainly interested in discussing the State Department reactions to the "Nationalist".
