Summary / Abstract :

I gave a brief account of Mr. Holt's impressions of Cambodia and I expressed some views on American requests for action by Australia. I agreed to Deschamps making sounding to open up channels for Cambodian discussions with the US but I advised the US not to Rusk into seeking direct discussions on the presence of the Vietcong in Cambodia but to take it gently.
