Summary / Abstract :

The recent intensification of the fighting along the Vietnam/ Cambodia border signals a new Vietnamese resolve to destroy Cambodia's capability to carry out military operations in side Vietnamese territory.Vietnam's long term objective remains the establishment of an amenable regime in Phnom Penh.While not contem plating a major invasion of Cambodia, Vietnam will continue to lend active support to indigenous resistance groups.
