Summary / Abstract :

For what it is worth Srilanka Ambassador says India is proposing an ASEAN- type grouping for the countries of the sub-continent and Burma and that this the purpose of Gonsalves swing through the area. Ambassador suggested Indian aim was to deny the US bases anywhere in the area and restrict re-militarisation of Pakistan .
