Washington, December 21, Vietnam is expected to begin a powerful offensive this weekend in an attempt to wipe out the remnants of the Pol Pot forces in the western provinces of Kampuchea. There is growing concern in Washington that the offensive could spill over into Thailand or trigger another punitive attack by China against Vietnam.
