Beijing's views on the current crisis in Cambodia have so far been opaque Chinese diplomats in Washington have been more than usually circumspect on this issue and Beijing has not made any illuminating official statements. We believe will come out on the Hun Sen power grab and on prospects for international mediation aimed at restoring the framework of the Paris peace accords. Asian Ambassador in Washington have also referred repeatedly to the weight they attach to China's role in Cambodia.
