Since the dissolution of French control of Indochina in 1953-1954 , Thailand ‘s eastern frontier has become a political marsh, rather like what it was during most of the nineteenth century, when the Thai kings of Bangkok were trouble by their relations with the Kings Prices and chieftains of the lao area and by intruders from China and Vietnam.
