All the cities were completely deserted without exception. All the village were turned into " People 's communes " in which everybody had to work twelve hours a day for Angkar, the notorious "organization " that controlled everything from production to family life. Money was abolished, schools and hospitals closed down. No more postal, railway or road communications. All the trappings of civilization were tripped off . Terror reigned. (Photo).
