Regulations on corrective labor adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR over the past decade have been designed more to expand the forced labor colonies than eliminate them; the most recent regulations are essentially new legal instruments designed to facilitate arrests on a grander scale. And the newest corrective labor legislation which is due to come into force in all the Soviet republics as of 1 June 1971 is no different.
