Description
A Perfect Soldier is a documentary about one man’s heroic journey from child soldier to a symbol of hope for a nation grappling with life after genocide. Born amidst a bloody war in Cambodia in 1970, Aki Ra was drafted into the Khmer Rouge and learned how to shoot a machine gun and lay landmines before his tenth birthday. For nearly three decades, Aki Ra saw nothing yet but violence and famine wreak havoc on a once peaceful nation. After the war Aki Ra vowed to do all he could to improve his country’s circumstance by removing the landmines he once said. Fighting back tremendous adversity and political pressure, Aki Ra finds hope and support in the most unexpected people and places. In 2010, Aki Ra was recognized as one of CNN’s Top Ten Heroes. A Perfect Soldier is a powerful example that no matter how difficult life can be, hope never dies and heroes rise above adversity.
