Crime Info
Main Crime Location
Additional information collected on March 20, 2009 My younger brother named El Poeu was killed by the KR: When the KR took over Phnom Penh in 1975, my family members were evacuated from Chreav Village, Robos Mongkol Commune, Mong Russei District, Battambang Province, to Pursat Province. We were later moved from Pursat to Russei Kraing Commune, Mong Russei District, Battambang Province. Our family members were separated. My elder sister El Put, my brother-in-law Ly Hor, and about twenty other relatives and I were assigned to stay and work at Boeng Prey Village. My parents, my younger brother El Poeu, and other relatives were ordered to stay and work at Chreav Village, Robos Mongkol Commune, Mong Russei District, Battambang Province. During the dry season of 1978, when El Poeu was 22 or 23 years old, he was killed by the KR. I never learned where he was taken to be killed. I found out about his execution from a friend of Poeu's, who worked with him in the same cooperative. Peou's friend told me that Poeu was accused of being a Lon Nol soldier, and that was the reason that Poeu was taken to be killed.
