Additional information collected on March 23, 2009 Death of my father: In 1977, my father, Toep Sae, died from starvation at home in Sre Ambil Village, Dang Peang Commune, Sre Ampil District, Koh Kong Province. At that time, I worked in the children’s unit of Antiet Village, Ambil District. When my father died, I could not visit him to see his last breath. During that time, the Khmer Rouge assigned him to grow potatoes and farm, just like other people. My mother, Saut Ham (currently living in this village with me) was with my father most of the time and witnessed the incident. He became sick. His legs, arms, and belly got swollen. He was exhausted from eating only watery rice soup, and this is why he died. In the village during that time, there was no medicine. I do not remember who was the village chief when my parents lived there. I think that the commune security police caused the death of my father, because he was the chief of farming, supervising all assigned tasks. However, I do not recall his name, because thirty years have passed. I think that the commune security police chief, the farming chief, is responsible for the death of my father. I filed the application form to be a complainant, because I am busy with my work. I farm and fish, and I am not educated. I am not good at speaking. Therefore, I want to file the application form to be a complainant.
