Crime Info
Main Crime Location
In 1977, my two siblings – Chhom Chhan and Chhom Chhoeum, both teachers – were taken to be executed by Khmer Rouge cadres. They were accused of being Lon Nol civil servants and taken to be killed at Thma Dekkes. The Khmer Rouge said [people] were being taken for re-education and they prepared carts in my village. Instead, they killed people. [We] became aware of this incident because one man named Tapp Dang escaped. Life during this time was full of suffering, because there was no food to eat except rice soup, and everyone had to work without relief. Sometimes, two hundred or three hundred people ate only five or six cans of rice mixed with some vegetables, such as banana, pumpkin, and manioc.
